Overlooking fields of sheep and the panorama of the Black Mountains, The Potting Shed is a creative sanctuary for potters and potting enthusiasts alike.

Alongside evolving her own practice of functional studio ware, Corisande is developing a program of day and residential courses including masterclasses in raku, wheel throwing and handbuilding. Already up and running are weekly 8-10 week courses run by Shannon Donovan. Shannon has been a practicing ceramicist for 20 years and currently teaches at Hereford College of Art. She specialises in helping adult learners with diverse levels of experience achieve their practical and aesthetic aims.

The Cabalva Potting Shed is probably the most beautifully situated in the British Isles.  Gorgeous views across the black mountains while a wood burning stove kept us warm through the coldest winter week.   Shannon was angelic about dispensing patient help and advice to five potters at completely different levels and given how much time was spent laughing, it is astonishing how much progress we all made.   I cannot recommend the whole experience enough!

The only criticism I have is that I don’t want to leave at the end of the session!
